Snowstorm 2011

So Sunday January 9th it started snowing and it snowed all night. When we woke up Monday there was about 5 inches of snow on the ground. Needless to say the kids were ready to go outside and play at 5:30 in the morning. We held them off until about 9:30. There is a great hill outside our house and by the time we got out there some neighbors were coming from down the street to sled. So sled we did! We played outside for awhile and then had some hot chocolate at our neighbors to defrost. Tuesday was much of the same except now there was a sheet of ice on everything! Wednesday we went for a walk. We were finally able to get out of the house Wednesday afternoon and took the kids to the gym so they could run around. Thursday was much of the same with ice and the gym. Friday things finally started to melt! Saturday was up to about 45 and things have melted nicely- our yard is still covered in snow. It all depends on what side of the street you live on! There was no school the entire week because nothing would melt!

This is Kendrick's windshield as he was trying to get the snow off his car.The kids headed out Monday morning.Kennedy's first time down the hill, still snow!The snow was too powdery to make a snowman on Monday but they still had a blast!Jr just wanted to eat the snow!Kennedy trying it on her own.
